Centenary Diamond ( A Modified Heart-shaped brilliant cut, The Centenary Diamond )

The centenary is a modified heart-shaped brilliant cut diamond with a weight of 273.85 carats. This diamond was found in Premier Mine (South Africa) on July 17th 1986 but brought out two years later. The original rough stone had 599 carats of weight and it has been cut by the team of Gabi Tolkowsky. After cutting the stone final design comes up with D grade of color quality, measured 39.90 x 50.50 x 24.55 mm and has 247 facets of diamond. It has named as a “Centenary Diamond” because it was presented on the Centennial Celebration of De Beers Consolidated Mines on May 11, 1988. This diamond was been insured around $100 million in 1991. The diamond is owned by De Beers and presented several years in Tower of London but currently the owner and value of this diamond is unknown.
